Welcome to Liberty County and to the Liberty County School system. Our goal is to provide a quality education to every student in a safe, secure environment.
The Liberty County School System is composed of eight elementary (k-5), three middle (6-8), and two high schools (9-12). In addition, we have a Pre-K center which serves 4 year old students through the Georgia Pre-K program and the Ombudsman alternative education program for middle and high school students. We serve all public school students in Liberty County with the exception of those students in grades K-6 who live on Fort Stewart.
Almost 11,000 students are served in modern facilities that house well-trained teachers, competent administrators, and state of the art technology. The latest technology is integrated into the curriculum to support student learning and to optimize academic achievement. Students are offered a variety of learning opportunities to support and supplement the core curriculum including art, music, and physical education. Our Division of Exceptional Learning provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of students with every exceptionality. The gifted program serves those qualified students who desire enrichment and expansion of their knowledge.
Primarily due to the presence of Ft. Stewart, approximately 50% of our student population is federally connected. We especially welcome our military families who enrich the culture of our schools and work to make their transitions as smooth as possible.
All Liberty County Schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as well as the Georgia Accrediting Commission.
The Liberty County Board of Education office is located at 200 Bradwell Street in Hinesville and our phone number is (912) 876-2161. For more details about our schools, programs, and assistance, please visit our website at http://www.liberty.k12.ga.us
Sincerely,
Dr. Judy Scherer, Superintendent
