The very best place to find employment in Liberty County may be through the Georgia Department of Labor.

The Georgia Department of Labor works with people who are looking for work and with employers searching for qualified employees. The Hinesville Career Center serves more than 10,000 people each year. The office is located at 740 General Stewart Way, Suite 202 in Hinesville. The office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Gary Varner is Manager of the Center with responsibility for Liberty and Long counties. “We have a variety of services available to help people who are unemployed, searching for a job, need career advice, or need job training to develop skills necessary to get a job,” he said. “These services include a computer network that has thousands of listings of private industry and government jobs on any given day,” he said.

For the job seeker, many services are available to help you get off on the right foot including:

  • Access to G1, Georgia’s electronic one-stop system. This system connects you to information including job listings, job search tips, and training resources.
  • Personal employment counseling
  • Resume’ preparation assistance and access to computer hardware and software to help you capture your experience, interests, and ambitions on paper for potential employers.
  • Personal interest questionnaires, career exploration tools, and testing
  • Unemployment insurance benefits to help you support yourself while you make a successful transition to a new position.
  • Career Guidance
  • Skills assessment and evaluation
  • Job search workshops and interview preparation help
  • Financial management workshops
  • Federal Bonding
  • Referral to training and education programs
  • A re-employment program for those re-entering the workforce after an absence
  • Services for persons with special needs
